Anything related to politics, history, even science is politicized, and controlled by a small group of people who want to maintain their agenda there. Not at all, because they cherry pick a narrative they want to support, and do not allow any information that contradicts that narrative. One, is that the earth’s core also has iridium in it that can be brought up by volcanos.Įverybody knows it's "unreliable." Wikipedia isn't an expert it's a jumping-off point that introduces you to how much you don't know. Well, there are plenty of papers that talk about the problems with this theory. The main evidence that supports the crater theory is the discovery of an alleged world-wide layer of clay with a high iridium content, which is found in meteorites. If you try to edit the page, they'll block you. If Wikipedia was reliable, you would've seen at least 150 more sources of published papers detailing all the holes in this theory. so even if you found a cave you run out of food if you can't stay in it for a few years. As for why 2 years, the dinosaur impact, was big it ignited the air on fire burning everything on the planet, debris thrown up blackens the sky and cools the planet so nothing can grow. It sure as hell would be a poorly kept secret with the volume of workers that's for sure. If you try to destroy it by blowing it up, it will turn into hundreds of meteors that will hit the earth Having said that if they did somehow get 2 years warning, I assure you the entire budget of the country would go into building an underground city and i'm sure with life on the line it would get done at an amazing speed. Where would they even dump all that dirt.Ħ - Why is it necessary to live under the ground for 2 years? They said there will be dark clouds for 2 years, but so what? Wouldn't there still be oxygen outside? Why not just make every municipality build big underground shelters where people of the local area can hide only to survive the initial impact, and then get outside again? That would've been more doable, instead of doing one single massive underground city, and stay there for 2 years.ħ - Why didn't they have more contingency plans? I'm not a physicist or an astronomer, but surely they could've come up with more than just 2 options in 2 years to stop this planet killing meteorite?Īt this point in actual astronomy we do not have an early warning system for large meteors, there have been numerous very large asteroids that have come within the distance between the earth and moon, that we had only weeks of notice, or in some cases no notice for.Second I'm sure the government has some sort of plan for nuclear armageddon, but I assure you there is nothing in place for a planet killing meteor like the one that wiped out the dinosaurs. There's no way this could've gone unnoticed. dump?ĥ - How were they even able to hide the construction of this massive underground system for an entire year? There must have been at least tens of thousands of workers and heavy construction machines going in and out every single day. Plus, what about things like electricity and sewage system? What about water? For all these animals to live underground for 2 years, that means somebody's going to have to take care of them. There is no way anyone can built that in 1 year. That underground shelter must be the size of a small city. How did they built that in just 1 year? It takes over an year to built a skyscraper. That underground network must be ginormous to hold 1 million people plus a ton of animals. It may also sound like social darwinism, but doesn't it make more sense to just pick only high class people, like educated people to ensure the future generations are advanced, instead of picking randomly low class buffoons to re-populate the planet.ģ - Why did the government announce the location of the underground shelter? Isn't it obvious that when they announce the location, there's going to be people all over it the next day?Ĥ - How did they manage to built an underground network of tunnels capable of holding 1 million people + a ton of animals in just 1 year? This is the biggest plot hole in my opinion. What if they picked 80% males, and only 20% females? Wouldn't it have made more sense to find a smarter way to pick the random people that would ensure some sort of balance. Granted they were told 1 year in advance, they could've had 2 years to prepare, instead of just one.Ģ - Does the way they picked those 1 million people not make any sense? They said they were going to pick people randomly. Overall, definitely top 5 best apocalyptic movies, but.ġ - Wouldn't it have made more sense for the government to announce earlier that they will be building a shelter only for 1 million people, so the rest of the people can have more time to find ways to survive on their own? There are lots of caves everywhere, people could hide there, or maybe find another way to survive.
